Baptism & Membership Sunday

What does it look like when a refocused life actually moves forward? That is the question at the heart of this powerful message, and the answer cuts straight to the core of our faith journey. Drawing from Acts 2, we are reminded that the early believers did not simply hear a life-changing message and walk away unchanged. They were cut to the heart, they responded, they were baptized, and they devoted themselves to a community. That progression, from hearing to responding to belonging, is the same journey God is calling each of us to walk today. The message challenges us with a striking image: imagine receiving a beautifully wrapped gift and simply carrying it around forever, never opening it. That is exactly what many of us do with the salvation, the gifts, and the next steps God has placed in our hands. We acknowledge them, we are grateful for them, but we never take the step to unwrap what is inside. Faith, we are reminded, is not just a feeling or a thought. It is a decision that becomes action. Conviction touches the heart, but commitment changes direction. Wherever we find ourselves on this journey, whether we have never surrendered to Jesus, or we have been sitting in the same spiritual spot for years, today is the day to stop saying someday and start saying today.
