Palm Sunday 2026

Mar 29, 2026    Paul McGinnis

This powerful Palm Sunday message invites us to look beyond the waving of palm branches and discover what it truly means to worship Jesus as King. We're challenged to examine whether we really know who we're worshiping when we gather together. The sermon unpacks the meaning of 'Hosanna'—a cry that means both 'save us now' and 'You are the one who saves'—revealing that the crowds had the right King but the wrong expectations. They wanted a political deliverer on a war horse, but Jesus came humbly on a donkey. This speaks directly to our lives today: Do we consult Jesus or truly submit to Him? Is He just our helper, or is He our Lord? The message draws a crucial distinction between having Jesus as Savior and making Him Lord of every area of our lives—our decisions, our lifestyle, our future. We're reminded that Jesus stepped down so we could be lifted up, choosing humility to reach us in places we think are unreachable. The call is clear: don't just wave palm branches on Sunday while ignoring His lordship on Monday. True worship means bringing our whole lives, not just our Sunday mornings.
